The RGV Jr Golf Association, a charitable, tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) organization, is dedicated to promoting and providing low cost tournament golf to the youth, ages 6 - 18, of the Rio Grande Valley. We serve the counties of Starr, Hidalgo, Cameron and Willacy in the state of Texas. We are independent of any junior golf program in the Rio Grande Valley.

The RGVJGA was set up to provide a tournament setting for the youth of the Rio Grande Valley at a very low cost to the participant.

 

Our organization is not set up to be a teaching program. By the time a youth golfer participates in our tournaments, they should know the basic fundamentals of the sport. The teaching of these fundamentals is the responsibility of the golf coach where the junior golfer participates. If the golfer does not belong to a local program the parent’s should seek out a program or a qualified golf professional so that they may be taught these fundamentals.

Our vision for the future is to provide a cost free annual trip to the TAAF (Texas Amature Athletic Federation) Games of Texas for as many as possible. To provide at least two scholarships for deserving seniors that have participated in our summer golf program.
